4p_Berserk_Hav (0.9 BETA) - File Description  


Description:
The author says this is a map that needs testing. When I tested it out I had alot of fun playing it. It's more of a defensive map and I actually prefer defensive maps it lasts longer.

The map is highly detailed and fun to play, for more info take a look at the read-me.

About:
This is my second map.

On this map players will have to secure chokepoints and camp before attacking. An ocean is in between the players but the bases are pretty near if you have artillery.

This release is a beta though since i havent tried it out so much myself yet, and one side of the ocean might be a little easier to hold than the other.

Anyways, it's meant to be a camping map with nice surroundings.
Try it out and tell me whats wrong with it.

note: The map has three different weathertypes wich i tend to use on all my maps but wich was orginially taken from Tox's map @ (http://planetcoh.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Maps.Detail&id=225), thanks.

I would also like say thanks to those brave enough to try my map: Devmelon, Tox, Lennings and Quintax.

How to install:
Depending on whats supported in the current patch...

"The old way"
Simply put the .sga in your "Company of Heroes / maps"-folder. Example: "C:GamesCoHMaps"

I use(d) the "CoH Launcher"-utility to play custom maps, but im not sure if thats necessary.

"The new / intended way"
Simply but the .sga file in the games map in "my documents"
eg: "C:UsersUSERNAMEDocumentsMy GamesCompany of Heroesww2scenarios"

Put the .sga where all other maps is supposed to be =)

Eh.... can't find out how to post screens AFTER the map has been posted =(
I have ten screenies here just waiting to be posted.

Could anyone please tell me how to do this?
And while youre at it, why doesent the loadingscreen show ?? Seems to have been patched away somehow...

Send the screenshots to my e-mail, I'll post them manually. We've been having some server issues, and there weren't any screens that arrived with the file.

Clicking on your nick only gives me a form for emailing, a form which cant take attachments.

But i will use that to give you my email, then you can email me with your email, and then... i can email you the screen shots.

OR, you could delete this map from the server and i submit it again... either way is fine by me.

Great map, VERY well done!

My only issue (while playing against the computer) is that the AI sticks at the Manpower points on the beaches at their respective sides, most notably, the Northwest and Southwest points (Right under base 2 and the opposite side, I think its base 4, on the beaches) and they seem to mass there, like I played against the American Infantry Company once, and there was about 15 Tanks and about 10 squads of Rangers sitting there at the point, same thing happens to my partners AI too, only on their side of the Beach.

Just tossing you a heads up.

Otherwise, GREAT Map.

Alright, thank you for the feedback, i am not sure why they act up like that, i believe there might be some bugs with the terrain.

Maybe if i put a road there and some AI-markers, I'll try.

Anytime buddy, I love the map, its in my top 3 Favorites already, behind Henry666's Invasion Maps. So I'd love to see it tweaked to perfection and all ironed out.

I am working on fixing that issue, and i can see the problem in the editor, unfortunately... the editor crashed on me after a lot of fixing, have to start all over soon.

so i've managed to fix alot now. It's better now imo, but the editor has crahsed again, and wont open the map. However, i will soon upload what i have and call it v1.0

I have just released a new version, it should be out any day now. Please try it out and vote accordingly. I have put alot of work on it, and might just start with a new map now.
