This is a modificaiton for Company of Heroes that has made changes to visual effects, the behavours of certain weapons and also of certain units.

There is also a large 6 player map called "River of mass Destruction" which is the main feature of this file.

This file comes in a easy to use installer.exe so setting this up will be no trouble at all. smile

Mass Destruction is a small Modification for Company of heroes
some visual effects have been changed, but there are also a few changes
to the characteristics of certain weapons and certain units.

The main feature in Mass destruction is a large 6 player Map called
"River of mass Destruction"
This map is loosely based on the original map "Vire River Valley" my favorite
COH map.
My intent in creating "River of mass Destruction" was to make a map that
was large enoughto keep axis players away from the range of allied artillery,
and also one that would isolate players from their foes long enough for them
to be able to create large, heavily armed forces that would eventually clash
showcasing the amazing level of destruction this game has to offer.
I wanted players to be able to experience large scale battles and large scale
the result of this effort was a map of massive proportions.

There are four destructible terrain connecting bridges and one large
indestructible bridge in the middle, there is also a shallow water pass
that will enable your forces to cross the river giving you an additional
approach to the enemy bases.

There are plenty of buildings that can serve as bases or to garrison your
troops as needed, the vital resources points are also surrounded by
buildings to make them better defendable.

Each base has a final defense network consisting of trenches and large
defensive weapons
In the case of the axis these defenses consist of two Machine gun bunkers,
two antiaircraft batteries and one 88mm canon.
The allied bases have similar defenses but have a 105mm Howitzer instead
of the 88mm canon.

Each player is provided with a fast moving truck that is drivable and can
house up to 12 troops.

There are also additional Para drop resources on each base along with a
cache of weapons including machine guns and bazookas for those that
fancy rush tactics.

The key to wining on this map is to gain control of the vital resources
located on the two middle islands, there are two antiaircraft batteries on
the east island, and one on the west island.
These guns can be manned by any player and they will devastate early
infantry so who ever gains control of these flak guns will gain control of
those points in the early part of the game.

There is a large fuel point in the middle bridge that will more that likely
determine who will win the game.

Visual changes:

Unlike the Mods that I made for Call of Duty2 where I practically changed
every single particle effect in the game:
there was very little I could improve on for COH, the existing special effects
are simply fantastic with the exception of the tracers.

I changed the look of the tracers to make them more realistic looking
and I made it so that only machine guns, the puma's 20mm main gun and
the flak batteries fire tracers.

other changes:

Removed the smoke trail from the sniper rifle.
Removed the smoke trail from tank and antitank guns.
Removed the smoke trail from mortars and artillery.

Unit changes:

Made the trucks drivable.
Made the Quad 20mm antiair flakguns operational.
Slightly reduced the Movement speed of all antitank guns
(allied 57mm and axis pak 38)
Slightly reduced the cost of the Panther tank.
Slightly increased the speed of the motorcycle.
Slightly increased the range and health of the 88mm gun (Universally know
as one of the best and most flexible weapons of WW2 it was grossly
misrepresented and pointless to make in the game.)

Performance Issues:

Performance problems have been detected on Windows Vista regardless of
System Specs.
Hopefully future graphics card drivers will fix this problem.

"River of mass Destruction" is a very large and elaborate map, it has been
optimized wherever possible with out compromising the basic
characteristics that where required from the offset.

Modest systems may experience lag depending on the number of players,
graphics settings and
internet connections to name a few.

If your system has performance issues with the game as is, it may not be
recommendable that you load this map.

If you do experience lag while running the map you may want to try the
following options.

Download the latest drivers for your graphics card.
Lower the graphics resolution
Disable Antialiasing
Lower the shadow quality
lower the shader quality
Lower the texture detail quality
Lower the physics
Lower the effects density
Lower the effects fidelity

Try experimenting with these settings, you will find that you may get a
substantial increase in performance.

very nice, that map looks great, and btw Sniperranger, im pretty sure mods cannot have their own maps (literally) so it will be available for use by any mod, or normal COH after it is installed.

good work on those changes Mario and Co.

i wanna try KMOD with this map.. XD

Hey guys im very glad u like the map, it took me 4 months to make,
by the time i was done, i didnt really care if it failed or if it was a success, i was just glad it was over.
it seems to be doing really well and i couldnt be happier,

you prolly did a gj with it but im not a mod man .. I just love your map..big lots of defencive places ect. Everytime i just use Commando realism mod(single infatry) and the trainer.

Funny I just recognized you get a 6 for install instructions hehe, I mean this one comes with an easy installer, dunno how more easy can it be ?

yeah dosen't work...

you forget some people ahve 2 ahrddrives c and e... i changed everything from C to E drive, even the target created on the desktop. All that happens is the game launches then gets to COMPANY OF HEROS LOADING... then just turns off. Is thsi cause of the new 1.6 patch or whatever?
