Eagle's Nest (V2) - File Description  

Well, here we have an interesting map. Featuring a small city, mountains, and a harbour, it promises some interesting gameplay. For those who like urban combat, you can fight in the city. For those who love slugging it out with your enemy's defenses, try to fight your way up to the Teehaus (better known as the Eagle's Nest, one of Hitler's headquarters locations.)

The author has included both .sga and .sgb files, for those who want to play this map multiplayer/scenario style.



P.S. Resistance is futile, eh?

(3 vs. 3) multiplayer or single player map

A 2-6 player map made for Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts and Tales of Valor latest patch 2.501

This map is based on Das Kehlsteinhaus the famous Teehaus (Teahouse in English) which was built
On the Kehlstein Mountain in the Bavarian Alps by the Nazis as a gift to Adolph Hitler for his 50th birthday
Widely known to Americans as The Eagle's Nest. History shows that it was the U.S. Army's 3rd Infantry Division
that was the first to take the Eagle's Nest. But YOU! can changed history in this Newly re-created map.

Although the map is base part in fiction, the story and place is real.

Allies; climb Kehlstein Mountain and take out the infamous Eagles Nest of Adolf Hitler- If you can.
Axis: Defend the fuehrer’s mountain retreat at all cost, or die trying.

The original map Eagle's Nest (ver. 1.0) was created by Ben B. and uploaded with a few flaws. However, with his permission and request
We have re-made it and release a New and improved version for your enjoyment. This is the upgraded and newly improved Eagle's Nest.
By permission VIA personal email and Ben's latest post here on FilePlanet. This map has been Re-edited with some
new upgrades And bug fixes of a few reported problems. Here are the improvements:

1) Fixed a Bridge bug- That had objects underneath that were preventing some vehicles from crossing to the other side.
2) Fixed a reported problem of Allied AI players not leaving there base and playing well in the map etc. (Deleted and re-placed Allies HQ and removed bad AI markers).
3) Added Game play Victory Points for the Victory Point game mode. (None before)
4) Made the mountain's roadway bottle neck problem wider for AI players to improve passage to game flow.
5) Added a lot of Eye candy to the scenery and improved the details of the map for a more realistic look and feel to game play.
6) Re-painted territory sectors to improve on capturing strategic locations.
7) Removed too many Tile Layers in chunk sectors and replace with more Splats and improved on City layout.
8) Play tested and re-arranged Resources markers and relocated the Map Entry Points (Axis) to relieve a problem with over crowed reinforcements
On mountain top, improving game play. (The Mountain was previously a Deathtrap with only one way in and out).

Although there were some changes made to the original Eagle's Nest map. The map's mountain, the city and the overall structure are the same.
I just gave a face lift to an already good map with a great idea. If you have already played the old Eagle's Nest.
You're gonna really appriciate and enjoy this new version! My Thanks to Ben B.

Game Hint; To spice things up a bit. There are 3 resource markers that are cut-off points to other resource sectors.
All three of the checkpoints are clearly marked near on the ground with a decal pointing out there importance in the map.
The AXIS: Munitions Point is marked with an Iron Cross Decal. The CITY: Manpower Point is marked with a Red Cross Decal and The Allies:
Is marked with a big star decal. If the AXIS point is captured it shuts off resource flow to their base. If the CITY point is capture.
It will connect or disconnect sectors. It depends on who owns the other sectors in the city linked to their home base. If the ALLIED marked point
Is captured. It will cut off resource to the allies’ base. You get the idea. These 3 marked resource points are the ONLY ones that can
Completely shut off all support to a base or sector(s).

(NOTE; these instructins are for the SGB file but I have also included the SGA in this zip as well)

MAP Instructions:

-Unzip all the files from the Eagles Nest folder zip: into "C:Program FilesTHQCompany of HeroesWWIIDataScenariosmp"
(If you don't already have a "mp" folder in your "...WWIIDataScenarios" folder, make one!)

-Create a shortcut to "Company of Heroes.exe" if you don't have one.

-Right-click on the "Company of Heroes.exe" shortcut and add " -dev" to the end of the target.

"C:Program FilesTHQCompany of HeroesRelicCOH.exe"

"C:Program FilesTHQCompany of HeroesRelicCOH.exe" -dev

(Make sure you have a space before the -dev and that it is not in the quotation marks)

SGA has been added in a folder for those who prefer it. Just put it in your sga
in (Documents/My Games/Company of Heroes/ww2/scenarios/)

(.sga and .sgb both files are here for those of you who prefer either or)

Wow, looks really good, yet not over the top - i'm so downloading this; probably gonna use SGA
Never saw the original, but i'm sure Ben B is/was/will be very pleased with this

I create MP folder...extract and see Eagles nest folder

Create Short cut and add space -dev

I launch and don't see the map....Did I miss something

Map is pretty much OK, but there seems to be a minor problem with the supply areas not connecting up correctly. Plays fine under Tales of Valor.
