Operation: Brevity (1.1) - File Description

About the File
This is a 2v2 map set in the desert. It features opportunities for tank, infantry, and defensive players to shine, although defensive players will likely have an easier time of it due to the pre-dug trenches.

Staff Impressions
We don't see enough desert maps around here. In any case, this map is designed more for hard combat than good looks, with few objects placed that aren't directly intended to be used as defensive emplacements. The good news is that the textures at least seem varied, thanks to the tank tracks sprinkled liberally around.

Strategically, this map is intended for a sort of "trench warfare" approach, with defensive players especially gaining the upper hand if they fortify the middle early.

Not bad by any means, and the fact that it's a desert map is always a plus.

P.S. Resistance is futile, eh?

This map is pretty smaller as the others i made, this time for 4P.

Located in the desert, it was about to be a map with a little lake in the middle, but which is dry now and can be accessed by infantry (only). The HQs are located on a higher place than the rest of the battlefield with a gigh fuel and ammo point, in order to offer you a little possibility for defensing if you get overrunned.

A fight in the past left scars to the scenario, so you can see defenses laying around the place, as well as a fortified frontier between one side and the other of the map. Thats why the forces have to be separated in order to keep save both sides of the dry lake.

I decided not to add more objects to the map, its suposed to be a dessert ;) I "mirrored" a few things because i had no much time and wanted to play the map ^^ Really funny anyways, HAVE FUN!!

Thank you for the time and effort.

Three hours. THREE HOURS! (that I don't want back).

If I did this with real opponent I reckon that it would never end.

What is particularly glorious in any of these games is fighiing against genuine breakthroughs, which you don't get in a lot of strategies. Throwing everything you have against the insurgents. Happily I have recorded it for posterity.

Many thanks for a bl8dy hard slog,

Magus1 (tired now)

Hi Man,

who won and what tree did they go down? I am also interested in the "tipping moment"; I think there is a german word for it, where putting the correct troops at the right place wins the battle.

The AI was particularly nasty on this map; testing the left then the right randomly with A LOT. I always play defensive, because I would rather have four 88s than a single Tiger.

My friend and i always play together, we dont like to play against online pro masters, what we do is 2vs2 against the Expert AI. I play the americans and he does play the english faction (i still think that the axis i a little bit owerpowered, its to easy to win with the germans :S). And we won ^^ keeping all the time the dry lake, that are lots of resources.

btw that was our 2nd try, the first time the AI attacked through the middle and achieved to get us back to our base, after 2 hours of resisting up there we gave up and restarted the game XD

I usually do axis and PE, I like the 88 as a defenive gun. I think though it unfair that the King Tiger can only be built once and rarely go down that tree. I see that the British are more for defence and the Amies for pushing when I play them.

Talk about overpowered Axis, there was an April 1st in the Eastern Front Mod (I recommend getting this mod!):

The new Ostheer army would get the following abilities:

Little Mouse
The fearsome Panzer VIII Maus can now be built from the Factory.

For the Fatherland
Launch a V2-rocket to each of the enemy bases.

Deploy a Landkreuzer P 1500 Monster, to crush the Communists, once and for all.

As someone correctly suggested, the Landkreuzer wouldn't fit on map!

It is described in a strangely titled book "My Tank IS Fight",; unfortunately the book is poorly written.

I reckon there should have been an Easter Egg in CoH!
