RC_Realism (v2.2.5) - File Description  


Description:
RC_Realism, for those who haven't heard, is a large, comprehensive mod that completely alters how the game plays. It is available in both English and German, and is made for just about any combination of CoH, OF, and ToV. There are a number of new units, as well as new unit and building upgrade options. Existing units have been extensively tweaked, including such things as accuracy and penetration adjustments. There's too many changes and bug-fixes to list here, so consult the changelog below.

This mod was created due to the fustrations and limitations that we felt the game had.
I apologize if there are any parallels with any other mods out there. I have no intention whatsoever of copying anyone's ideas. Credit is given appropriately in the changelogs whenever I knowingly used others materials.

Should you feel that I have copied some of your ideas, please email me at rf2006@hotmail.com and give a detailed explanation of the situation. I will do my best to rectify it.

In the case that you would like to use my ideas, feel free to do so. All I ask is to give credit where credit is due.

Installation:

If you are updating RC_Realism from a version pre v2.1.0, use the following directions:

Delete any previous versions of this mod by deleting the RC_Realism folder; RC_Realism.module; RC_Realism.English.ucs.
The first two are found in C:Program FilesTHQCompany of Heroes.
The last one is found in C:Program FilesTHQCompany of HeroesCOHEngineLocaleEnglish.
Run the two installers.

If you are updating RC_Realism from v2.1.0 or above, use the following directions:

Uninstall the old version using the Windows Add/Remove Programs found under Control Panel.
Run the two installers.

STEAM USERS:

I honestly have no idea how to make this work for Steam. If you can make it work, then congratulations. Otherwise, I can't help you. I've tried to help over fifty people install it over the past several weeks to no avail.

Upon finishing the second installation (RC_Realism vx.x.x and RC_Realism vx.x.x UCS) for all of the above methods, do the following:

Copy the CoH shortcut on your desktop.
Rename the shortcut RC_Realism.
Right click the shortcut and go to properties.

Copy paste the following under target (32 bit OS):
"C:Program FilesTHQCompany of HeroesRelicCOH.exe" -mod RC_Realism -dev

Copy paste the following under target (64 bit OS):
"C:Program Files (x86)THQCompany of HeroesRelicCOH.exe" -mod RC_Realism -dev

STEAM USERS:

Copy paste the following under target:
"C:Program FileSteamSteam.exe" -applaunch 20540 -mod RC_Realism -dev

Use the new shortcut to launch the game.
