You might be aware that there is a problem with the downloads at the moment.
Files are returning a 404 page not found error.
The FileFront tech team are working on this as we speak and hopefully things will be fixed very soon.
We apologies for any problems you may have using the sites during this time. This issue is also affecting staff adding files so if you have a file waiting then please be patient.
If you know the name of the file you can search for it on the new FileFront site

due to technical and design-wise updates to the FileFront main page that also go to the core of our DNS server you may right now notice a couple of files giving you a 404 error. The community links on every Network site has been compromised and they redirected to a illegal warez site.
We have corrected this but unfortunately we could not recover the links to restore them. As a result all of the links have been deleted to protect the people who sent the original links into us.
While this could be seen to be a set back we are taking the view that although this has caused all the staff some extra work it is still a good time for a fresh start as some of the links were probably dead ones.
Some site managers have already started restoring known links on there sites
We would like you to either resubmit any link you had on your chosen site and submit new ones.
You can find the link in the left menu under "The Community"
This is not the affiliates but the links. Here is a example

While it has been looking like a draw for the last 2 days, in the final run we have the first winner for the Map Of The Month Award!

When this map by Smekarn was released I was in the very unfortunate position of not getting to test it myself as a certain crazy Canadian was a thad faster than me, but nevertheless this map has well deserved the award. While it is not yet perfect (topic: Infantery only), you can see the great effort that was put into every detail about this map and the result is indeed high quality. Congratulations Smekarn!!!
However, it was indeed a tight result as the poll results, none of the other participants would have any reason to be ashamed, you've all put a great piece of quality work on here and people do show their appreciation for it.
Thank you very much for all your submissions which are what keeps this site alive!

Today I introduce you a great mod named KMOD (Kyranzor's Mod). This mod brings up new units and skins into the game. The mod looks really refreshing,skins are great,and there is a bunch of new units available for combat. There are loads of improvements that make the game better in many aspects, as from bunch of corpses till the unique units and skins. Download this mod,and test the new aspects of the CoH battlefield !

Expect to see hundreds, even thousands of men to die in a game of CoH KMOD, as squads are cheaper, larger, and deadlier than ever. With realistic (well, in proportion to CoH's scale) ranges for weapons, and damage/accuracy improvements, firefights in KMOD are much more exhilarating.
Using skins by talented artists such as Halftrack and Blacklabel, the men are given unique appearances that make them look much more interesting than in original CoH. A big emphasis on combined arms has been used in KMOD, as tanks are very deadly to infantry, but infantry are just as deadly to tanks, and must always be protected from each other.
Artillery is now more common, and new doctrines for the Axis allow access to artillery such as the Gustav railway gun, and better reinforcements.
Complex game mechanics like the Tank Crew for tanks (Tiger tank, until further implementation of this mechanic) which enable the main gun and turret, when before only the driver was in the tank. KMOD maps, made by Fiffa or a 3rd party mapper are as large as possible, so allow for huge battles over large areas, instead of the close and cramped battles in the original COH.
The KMOD includes:
- All tank MG's make bigger damage to the opponent
- Larger squads
- More squads
- More than 40 new units
- Longer range for all guns
- Better accuracy and damage for all guns
- Some new buildings, like defenses and walls
- New icons
- New doctrine abilities available
- Tanks are cheaper,but in some cases vulnerable against infantry
- Infantry is very cheap.
- Income for manpower increased
- Upkeep of squads is removed
- Upgrades and squad based upgrades moved/removed or made into separate units
- AI changes
- New ingame UI taskbar
- Almost all units got new skins

The good people at Clanwarz have kindly donated a 100 slot Ventrilo server to us all here. The server is there for all FileFront patrons including the Network, Forums and main site.
It gives a great opportunity to get know each other a little better and maybe even get together in game.
As you have probably noticed in the Left menu on most (soon to be all) sites the new Ventrilo section. You can join the server by having Ventrilo installed and user name set. Then simply click the link in the left menu and join the channel that want.
If you wist to set it up manually then here are the server details

Have you ever been looking over your favourite game site and thought that you could really help out ?
If the answer is yes then we would like to hear from you. We are now recruiting staff for all sites and hopefully some new ones.
Some of our sites are fully staffed at the moment but don't let that stop you from applying to join our very friendly team here.
If your preferred site is fully staffed you will still be contacted to see if you could help out on a different site. We will still pass your details on to the site manager for that site just incase they need a extra pair of hands.
So what do we need from you to join us. Well not much really to start with.
First you must be 16 or over and have regular Internet access.
You must have good understanding of English (this is for news items and so on)
You must own the game for the site/s you are applying for, with the ability to run custom content (for testing submitted files)
If your application is accepted then you will also be required to register on our forums and visit the staff section at least once a week as updates and requests are posted there.
To apply simply copy the below template into a email and send it of to network@filefront.com
Make sure you fill out the games section including the ones that we do not have sites for at the moment.

Hello everyone!
It's that time of the month again when we have a major change to the site to announce. As you may have noticed there is right now a poll going on asking you to vote for the "Map of the Month". This brings me to the first major update:
Map Of The Month
A poll like you see it on the frontpage will from now on be held on every 15th of a month and will include every map released since the 16th of the previous month. The winner of the poll will have his map featured in the left menu and get an all-time entry into our Map of the Month Archive in appreciation to the hard work and effort they all put into their work. 
Fansite Of The Month
This is a very new feature I would like to bring to your attention. Unfortunately after a nasty hack attempt back in the Ziff Davis time we have lost all our links. It is the purpose of this site to stay in contact with and to support the community though, and we take our responsibilities for that serious. Therefor I would like to ask everyone of you who owns, or knows about a fansite for Company of Heroes, to click here and to send the link in. The best site of a month will then be picked by the staff and will be shown in the right menu (under the affiliates area).
Modification Profiles
If you have taken a look at the right menu recently you will notice that there is a new area called "Featured Modifications". Now the text "Coming soon" often means "we'll do it when we can be bothered", that is far from what we intend to do. The featured mods will be for everyone who is developing, or has developed, a modification for Company of Heroes and/or its expansions. Having your mod featured means you will not only get the average review, but a detailed information page for your mod. These will include:
- History of the Modification
- A Developer Profile (on request)
- Screenshots
- Actual development status maintained by our staff
- and much more...
So if you would like to have your mod featured, click here to contact chug_muffin and tell him a bit about your mod.
The FilesNetwork Ventrillo Server
As you know, CompanyOfHeroesFiles is not an independant site but part of the big FileFront Network family. In the past we used to have a united TeamSpeak server, however due to issues with the host we were unfortunately no longer able to provide this service to you. Thanks to our new management and especially the newly instated network administrators, we proudly announce that we have a Ventrillo server up and running now.
The advantage for you: You will be able to communicate with other gamers from the entire network. Getting to know each other, perhaps even make a couple of new friends online to play with.
All you need to do is to download the Ventrillo Voice Chat Client and after the installation to join our server!
That's it - for now. Further updates are in the planning though, so stay tuned for more!

Company of Heroes has reached the Russian Front. Red Army infantry will soon be battling against the German Ostheer. 2 whole new armies are being added. 2 factions' worth of new units and abilities. New maps. New start menu.
That would be a pretty good expansion for Company of Heroes.
But what is even better is that this is an up and coming free modification for the game!

Welcome.
The Eastern Front is going to achieve what so many RTS players have been yearning for so many years: The integration of the Soviet Union into Company of Heroes.
First of all, do not worry. EF is not going to harm your normal CoH in any way, you can still play it normally. Also, it does not overwrite any of the exisiting factions. It will add the new factions, and you can still play with the old ones as well.
Our goal is the integration of the Red Army and the Ostheer into CoH. Complete with new models, skins, sounds, buildings, tech trees and maps.
We have already come a long, difficult way. Modding CoH is not easy. But we have an ambitious team of crack modders and we have taken all the hurdles. And now, two and a half years after our very first idea for this mod, we are close to making our initial release.
The ambition of this project is massive. They are building whole new armies from scratch. And from what they've shown so far, they've done a very impressive job. Russian IS-2 heavy tanks; T-34 medium tanks; German Elefant tank destroyers; conscripts, partisans, commissars... The list goes on. They have even got their Red Army doctrines planned!
This modification promises to be one of the best and most abitious that CoH has every seen. Although the release date is currently to be announced, this mod is one to watch! Please note that the screen shots show a WIP and the quality of the models etc will be even higher for the release!

I am pleased to announce a few promotions for the network.
Mr.Funsocks, the lovable, huggable Network Administrator has been promoted to Asst. Network Manager and will become my right hand dealing with issues that arise on FileFront's game sites.
Goody10 of soldier of fortune files has been promoted to Network Administrator.
FFxStalkerx of stalker files has been promoted to Network Administrator.
Guyver3212 of WoWFiles has been promoted to Network Administrator.
The above three have shown fierce determination in ensuring that the network thrives and pushes forward. When it came to the need to add some fresh faces to fill in those ranks, it certainly wasn't easy to sift through all of the staff who easily deserve such recognition of their hard work, but these three came out on top and I'm sure you will see great things happen with them lurking about.
Congrats to all of you. Each and every one of you has earned this and should be proud!

Hey guys,
After some of the more recent feedback it came to my attention that some people aren't aware of our news or don't want to read them due to the fact we only have little of them. While the three of us are keeping a close eye on the site, we currently do not really have the vacant free-time to go news-hunting....exams, work, more work, you know the deal.
Therefor we now have a fourth staff position vacant, namely the News Hunter.
So what do we need?
We need somebody who will be our eyes, ears, and mouth around the different communities that all form the one big CoH Community. Over many years this network has been seen as a simple file storage with a poll and POTD, but we want this site to be more than that. Therefor we require your help.

I quite enjoy the job Pille does of the PotD. It changes prompt, he has a sense of humour. Yep, i like the job he's doing.
Don't forget there's other staff members too (CanadianBorg and DarthThomas) when you vote.
Also, I intend to hold this kind of poll regularly in the future to see what we can improve on. Regarding the apparently rather often selected "Staff should interact with the community more." we'll see if we will offer direct site and issue support via MSN in the future. If you have further ideas please add them here!
I uninstalled CoHOF a while ago, i haven't downloaded anything since before the change over, so i can't really comment on how the other chaps have done, though it seems like they're doing a good job too.
