Currently, the Commando Realism Mod v3.2 sits at fourth place for the most downloaded file on th site, and with just shy of 4500 downloads in total (since August 11th, thats impressive!) is easily one of the most popular modifications made for Company of Heroes! Keeping this in mind, I know this bit of news will bring a smile to your face...and put a song in your heart.
Hot on the heels of version 3.2, Revolucion09 has brought us some news about the secret work being done, and the pending release of the version 4.0! Can it get any better then this?
Ok, secretly ive been researching some scripting stuff, changes here and there, this is what we're getting in next version.
This is being coded since July 10. A week after v3.2 Release
-Reduced Platoon sizes. Infantry platoons will be composed by 3 Infantry Squads (added mixing too). Normal WW2 Tank Platoons will be composed by 2 tanks. Rare Tank Platoons will be composed by 1 tank
-Reduced Squad sizes. Most infantry squads are now 6 Men Strong, to ensure more tactical movements and abilities. Easier to prepare ambushes.
-18 New Platoons, called Attachments. They are to support Main Doctrine Platoons. New building for this. For example, Tank platoons will have a Infantry Platoon to call, after some game time. Though this platoon is not better than Infantry's doctrine one.
-6 New Heroe Squads *Commandos. One per doctrine. They have special abilities, and give buff to nearby squads
-Rescripted AI, to ensure Skirmish Battles
-Campaign Mode Compatible! (yeah right!)
-Added many new abilities and tactical features
-Added more variation in squads (looking, weaponary and even in platoons. For example Heavy Machine Gun for infantry platoons)
-Added new Skins
-Improved Overall's game balance
-Improved Overall's performance. Specially for late games.
-Recoded Fear Factors and Penetration Data
-Added Upkeep and cost tweaks to mantain a tactical game
-Remade Text Scripts to fix the NoKey error in some users
-Infantry Combats tweaked
-Halftracks separated as another platoon (in HQ)
-Many Bug Fixes
Also, for all those Vanilla Gameplay and 2.6 Version Lovers, there will be a 2.7 Version. Adding to vanilla gameplay the commando's realism, strategic abilities and new squads. More information coming Soon

This is indeed great news, and I can't wait for the release to come! Be sure to swing by their forums and let them know about any bugs or issues that you come across, or just give them a shout to let them know that they are doing an excellent job!
For those of you not in-the-know about the Commando Realism Mod, basically, you'll start off with an Officer and basic platoons; then you choose a doctrine (Infantry, Armoured or Support), and through the progress of the Game, you will enable new platoons, sent by the commanders, to win the decisive battles of Europe in 1944/45. Each doctrine enables 6 Platoons, unique from each other.

|I'm guessing you were wondering where the images were? The images for any news/file post can only be uploaded after the news or file post has been finished and mirrored, so if you view the content as soon as it's available, you need to allow for another minute or 10 (depending on the number of pictures) for the images to get uploaded as well. |
If the object of your post is that you're wondering why the news is about v4.0, but the images are from 3.2, that is because I prefer to have images accompany news posts, and in this case, I only have v3.2 images available. (Which is why I specified that they were indeed v3.2 images, and not v4.0)
...If you are referring to something else, please elaborate.
